Scope & summary

This Privacy Policy explains how Organize Eats ("we," "us," "our") handles information when you visit our website, join our waitlist, or use our products and services (together, the "Service"). It applies to information we collect online, by email, or through other channels we operate.

The short version: we collect only what we need to run the Service, we don't sell your personal information, and you can ask us to update or delete your data at any time.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: when you give it to us, when it's generated by your use of the Service, and from a small number of trusted service providers who help us operate.

Information you provide

  • Account & waitlist details — such as your name, email address, and household size if you choose to share it.
  • Content you create — meal plans, grocery lists, recipes, notes, and budget figures you enter while using Organize Eats.
  • Communications — the contents of messages you send us through the contact form, email, or support channels.

Information collected automatically

  • Device & usage data — browser type, operating system, approximate location (city level), referring pages, and actions taken in the product.
  • Log data — IP address, timestamps, and error reports needed to keep the Service reliable.

Information from service providers

If you sign in using a third-party account (for example, an email provider for magic links), we receive only the minimum profile information needed to identify your account.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service — including saving your plans, generating grocery lists, and showing your budget progress.
  • Communicate with you about your account, product updates, and waitlist status.
  • Respond to questions, feedback, and support requests.
  • Understand how Organize Eats is used in aggregate, so we can make it calmer and clearer.
  • Protect the Service from abuse, fraud, and security threats.
  • Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

We do not use your meal plans, grocery lists, or budget data to train third-party AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

Sharing & service providers

We share information only in a few clearly defined situations:

  • Service providers — vetted companies that host our infrastructure, send transactional email, or provide analytics on our behalf. They may access information only to perform tasks for us and must keep it confidential.
  • Households — if you choose to share a plan, list, or budget with another member of your household, that person will see the content you share.
  • Legal requirements — when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with law, protect rights, or prevent harm.
  • Business transitions — if Organize Eats is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand product use. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.

For analytics we use privacy-respecting tools that aggregate data and do not build advertising profiles about you.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it longer for legal, security, or accounting purposes (in which case it is isolated and protected until it can be deleted).

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls, and routine reviews — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work hard to minimize risk and respond quickly to any issues we discover.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Port your data to another service in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@organizeeats.com. We'll respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling the request.

Children's privacy

Organize Eats is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International transfers

Organize Eats is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries with different data protection rules than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the product. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
